Getting to Nashville & Getting Around

Facts checked October 18, 2026

Nashville International Airport (BNA) is the only airport you need, and a city bus runs from it straight to downtown.

Do you need a car?

For a downtown trip: optional. Lower Broadway, the Ryman and most of the honky-tonks are within walking distance of each other. From the airport, WeGo’s Route 18 runs between BNA and the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central downtown; you board at the Ground Transportation Center on Level 1 of the Terminal 2 Garage (WeGo).

Beyond downtown: useful. If your plans reach out to the Opry area, Franklin or the distilleries, a car or rideshare will make them easier.

Renting a car

If you do rent, compare the airport desks in one search rather than booking the first brand you see, and check what the rate includes (tolls, extra drivers, mileage) before you pay.

Airport transfer

Welcome Pickups has a Nashville page for pre-booked airport rides; the page lists flight monitoring for delays, 24/7 customer support and flexible cancellation (checked October 18, 2026). It’s worth comparing with a taxi or rideshare if you land late, travel with kids, or just want the ride sorted before you fly.

Luggage storage

Radical Storage lists bag drop spots around downtown Nashville (city page checked Oct 18, 2026). Book in the app or on the site and show the confirmation at drop-off.

Schedules, routes and coverage change; confirm on the official page before you travel.
