Blue Ridge, Georgia Cabin Rentals: Where to Stay and How to Book

Prices & schedules checked October 18, 2026

Cabins are the classic way to stay in Blue Ridge. The Fannin County Chamber lists mountain-view, lakefront, riverside, luxury and pet-friendly options, and says many rent for just a weekend. This guide won’t pick a cabin for you: we haven’t stayed in them, and listings change. Instead it covers which area suits your trip, what to check on a listing, and when it’s busiest. Every fact links to its source.

In and around downtown Blue Ridge

Stay close if the train and downtown restaurants are the point of your trip. You board at the depot 30 minutes before departure, and rides can sell out weeks in advance (railway FAQ), so book the train when you book the cabin.

Lake Blue Ridge

The Chamber notes lakefront cabins for water sports on Lake Blue Ridge, a 3,290-acre TVA reservoir open to motorboats, jet skis and paddlecraft (Forest Service). The Forest Service’s Morganton Point area, reached via the town of Morganton, has a swim beach and boat launch.

Along the Toccoa River

The Chamber mentions riverside cabins for trout fishing on the Toccoa and calls Blue Ridge the “Trout Fishing Capital of Georgia.” South of town, the Forest Service’s Sandy Bottoms area (about 8.5 miles via Aska Road) gives access to the 13.8-mile Toccoa River Canoe Trail.

Vrbo has no separate Toccoa River area, so this button opens the Blue Ridge search. Look for riverside listings there.

McCaysville

McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN are the twin towns where the 4-hour train stops for a 2-hour layover. In summer, Toccoa River tubing outfitters operate in McCaysville (Rolling Thunder runs Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend).
