Do you need a car?

Downtown: no. From the airport, VIA route 5 leaves from the far west end of Terminal B (lower roadway, outer curb) and reaches downtown in about 30 minutes (SAT).

For the missions and the Hill Country: helpful. The four missions stretch south along the river; drive, bike or take a tour (see our missions guide). SeaWorld and Natural Bridge Caverns are a drive from downtown.

Renting a car

If you do rent, compare the airport desks in one search rather than booking the first brand you see, and check what the rate includes (tolls, extra drivers, mileage) before you pay.

Airport transfer

Welcome Pickups has a San Antonio page for pre-booked airport rides; the page lists flight monitoring for delays, 24/7 customer support and flexible cancellation (checked October 18, 2026). It’s worth comparing with a taxi or rideshare if you land late, travel with kids, or just want the ride sorted before you fly.

Luggage storage

Radical Storage lists downtown drop-off spots, including one at a hotel near the Alamo (city page checked Oct 18, 2026).

Attraction pass

Go City’s San Antonio pass has you pick SeaWorld San Antonio or Natural Bridge Caverns plus two more attractions from its top 12, with 30 days from activation to use it. The list includes the GO RIO river cruise and the San Antonio Zoo (Go City, checked Oct 18, 2026). It suits a trip that already includes SeaWorld or the caverns; for the free Alamo and missions you don’t need it.

Schedules, routes and coverage change; confirm on the official page before you travel.
